Gakken Denshi EX-150

This is a lovely piece of kit. I’d picked this up from Amazon a while back, one from the reissued (2002?) batch.

I had an EX-120 way back in the early 80s and it’s just been amazing to (somewhat) relive those moments. While the experiments and blocks are (mostly) the same, the components have changed.

Notably, the NPN/PNP (C536/C1685) transistor combination have been replaced by a pair of NPNs (2SC equivalents, as per the manual).

Further, the amplifier module doesn’t seem to be detachable anymore. The batteries have been relocated, too.

And I didn’t know till about a minute back that “denshi” is the japanese word for “Electronics”.
